Vericred Collections is a disgrace!

My mom had an outstanding balance with Pathcare which she paid on 30.08.2021(we still have the proof). She was contacted by by Vericred collections on 01.092021 to advise that the account has been handed over to them by Pathcare. My mother advised Vericred on that same phone call that she had already made the payment the day before. They have been harassing my mom ever since then. The lady that called my mom this morning even went as far as saying that it is not her problem that the account was handed over to them and that my mom still needs to pay Vericred and then take this up with Path Care. That I unacceptable! I am disgusted by this. I am disgusted by how the lady handled the call and how this whole thing is being felt with all in all. It’s bad that people who cannot afford to pay their debt are harassed by debt collections agencies in South Africa on a daily basis, but to be harassed even after you told people that you have not only paid your debt but you have proof as well, is just beyond me.

Hello PHIWE Y*****, thank you for your report.
Further to your comments, please take cognisance  of the fact that the account, of which you were the patient at date of service,  was handed over for collection by pur client Pathcare on 17 August 2021 due to non-payment and being overdue and outstanding. The payment was subsequently made two weeks after handover on 30 August. Our client submitted proof of payment on 6 September 2021 and the outstanding balance was in respect of the legal collection fees accrued seeing that the account was handed to a debt collector and for which the debtor is duly liable.
Be that as it may, please note that our client requested us today 29 October 2021 to reverse the collection fees and close file, as a result the account in question was finalised and closed.
Please be guided accordingly.
