********* practice

On the 22 Aug 2017 I wrote a review stating that I accidentally paid a large sum of money to Vericred and they refused to pay me my refund back until 45 days later – according to them this is to illuminate *****, sorry but once you have confirmed my banking details which takes a couple of days what has ***** got to do with it??? THEN they finally pay my money back BUT they deposit a cheque (who actually deposits cheques anymore???) which means I must now wait a further 10 days on top of the 45 days to receive my money back – this company has systems in place that make no sense AND demonstrate ********* practice – I think the ombudsman should look into this - *******!!!

Good day Sharneen, thank you for your report. However, contrary to your comments, VeriCred by no means act "*********", nor did VeriCred ever "refuse" to pay your money back as you allege, which was inadvertently paid into the wrong account by you. The monies were duly refunded to yourself. As you correctly mention in this post, it is company policy for the required waiting period regarding any refund due to the high amount of ***** being committed and losses previously incurred .These are strict guidelines that need to be adhered to under any circumstances, which are also implemented to protect yourself, no exceptions to be entertained in this regard. In addition, payment by cheque is a 100% acceptable and legal method of payment. Be that as it may, there are currently policies underway to be implemented and amended in this regard, which includes payment by EFT. Regards, VeriCred Collections (Pty) Ltd

Best regards,

What a bunch of bull, and it is ********* - where do you get 45 days from??? What exactly is the reason behind this and preventing ***** I’d love to know! If the standard days for refund is 15-30 working days MAX! Further to this I had to supply Vericred with proofs of payment from 2015 to prove this is my account, which I did and discovered that I was actually in credit already with Vericred for an amount of R289.34 which has still not been paid back to me. I mentioned this to Vericred accounts department when trying to sort of my refund and this money was not paid back to me - in fact you happily deducted the outstanding R386.35 from the over payment you received. And after all that then you go and pay by Cheque which makes me wait another 10 or more days for my money to clear - to add to this it was not a small amount of money I paid over and like I mentioned to your CEO I am pregnant and needed that money for scans and doctor visits!! Yes initially my mistake in selecting the wrong recipient when making my payments but that in no way excuses Vericreds execution of this whole ordeal. You telling me your company doesn’t do any EFT’s is a load of *******!!!! And I would like an answer on the R289.34 that is still owed to me please. Also as of today I still have not received my initial refund - it is now been 48 days and by the time the cheque clears it will be over 50 days!! Disgusting

Good day, our previous posting has reference, which is self explanatory. Further to your comments and allegations, please take cognisance of the fact that there is no 'credit' of 'R289-34' to be paid back to you. You had more than one overdue accounts handed over for collection due to non-payment by you. At the time you paid a total of R1500-00 on 05/08/2015 which was split to pay two outstanding accounts, R1210.66 to settle the one and the balance of R289-34 to settle the other outstanding account. Proof duly held in this regard. In conclusion, there is no amount of R289-34 or any other additional monies to be paid to you and you have received the correct refund amount. Regards, VERICRED COLLECTIONS (PTY) LTD.
