******* into paying an account that does not relate to me

I received a call from one of the consultants at vericred and she advised about an outstanding amount that was owed to Lancet in which I had to pay which also came as a suprise as I always settle my accounts with Lancet before they could even be handed over to collectors. The consultant then asked if I know a certain someone who happens to be my brother and I said I do then I asked if the debt relates to him and the consultant said no. This is for our mom of which at first she was under my brothers medical aid and then moved to mine about 3 years ago, so I asked when was this transaction and she advised it’s from last year of which we had an incident where our mom was admitted to the hospital so I thought maybe I might have missed this payment whereas I had paid all other amounts, I then agreed for the amount to be deducted from my account on the 20th of June, this was on the 11th or 12th of June, I then requested a statement from them which was addressed to Ms D Guliwe in which I am not Ms D Guliwe but Ms B Khumalo even my brother is not Ms but Mr. I then called on Monday to request for the debit order to be reversed as this amount owing does not relate to me and the consultant advised I should send an email to *** and I sent the email on the 15th of June but to date, I have not received any feedback and the amount was deducted from my account.

May I kindly request a refund of 996.96 as this amount does not relate to me, I am not Ms D Guliwe.

Good day Busisiwe K, the matter was investigated. The fact of the matter is that you were not '*******' into paying a non-related account but that due to a misunderstanding you thought it was for a LANCET account. We do not collect on Lancet and our agent subsequently contacted you to whereby it was confirmed that the Ampath account in question was that of your brother and the patient is your mother hence the misunderstanding. Your contact details was supp**** to us when the account was handed over as you are a next of kin. It was further established that the email by you was sent  to the incorrect address and as a result the person did in fact not receive any correspondence. The agent further informed you that the swiftest way to receive the monies back into your account is to dispute/reverse the debit order at your bank to receive the refund on the same day. Thank you. Kind regards
