shocking service
been handed over more than a month ago and no contact has been made by them to me. In the meantime, accumulated costs are probably being added as the debt collectors allows them to? No response from general email on their website once I found out I was handed over. Called in and get sent an encrypted statement 4 days later that I am unable to respond to or open. This means it is system generated, so they can charge me fees.
And as time goes by that I can actually receive a statement to pay them, I am probably being charged....

30 Nov 2017, 09:50and I just received a statement. I have been charged a total of R116.05 admin costs for doing the collection myself.... the email I requested has been charged for as I thought including the one I just requested again???

30 Nov 2017, 10:02Good day Tamara Koekemoer, thank you for your report. Contrary to your comments on this forum, your account was not handed over "a month ago" as you claim. Your overdue pathology account was handed over for collection on 16 November 2017due to non-payment by you. Please take cognisance that we receive all details from our client with the handover. VeriCred endeavoured to contact you from the outset on the contact number supp**** by our client which you supp**** to them at date of service. This number differs from the contact number you use in this report hence the fact that you could not be reached, this has now been rectified. The referring doctor also did not insert your ID number, your ID number is thus not on file with our client Ampath's and also not with VeriCred, thus no fault or error on our side. That is also why you could not open the password protected statement. Be that as it may, there will naturally be charges on your account in terms of the Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998, as you were handed to a debt collector. We have however agreed to waive a portion of the costs accrued as a gesture of goodwill, and under the circumstances we shall arrange that the Supervisor forward you an amended statement. Please take note that further collection cost will incur until payment is effected. Regards, VeriCred Collections.
