Poor Service by Vericred

I received an sms on the 11th May 2018 saying: Still no payment on your acc Ampath ABSA Vercres Ampath Trust Acc 407.....Branch 632005. Ref: ********** ********** .... Tel: 021.., with no amount owed. I then called the number to get more clarity on the sms, and was told that my unpaid Ampath account of September 2017 was handed over to Vericred. I asked for the amount to pay, I was given an amount but the consultant said a person responsible for the account will call me to explain everything and provide me with account numbers to pay. The responsible person called later during the day, but now with a different amount with an added R56.35, when I ask why the amount differ from the one I was initially given, she said its because of the call she just made, I then said, I am the one who called first, she was not available and she is now returning the call, how do I pay for that. I was phoning to get the total amount to settle the full amount, but could not do because I am given a higher amount than the initial communicated when i was calling. I get charged for calling to make a payment arrangement. The consultant said I can pay the initial amount but she does guarantee that the account will be cancelled and I cannot get the clearance letter. I am not happy with the service provided, and I feel that this is a day light *******. How does an amount be increased with R56 within hours?

Good day Baji Motlanthe, your report has reference. Further to the comments, have you at any time requested to speak to a supervisor or manager when you were not happy about the charges? Contrary to your allegations, your requested a discount on your overdue medical account and wanted a clearance letter. Please note that as clearance letter is only issued if you are blacklisted on the credit bureau. Your outstanding medical account which is handed over for collection is not listed on the credit bureau. The charge you refer to is a perfectly legal and authorised charge which is being referred to as "consultation charge" whereabout you were informed of details of the account in question, outstanding balance etc. Please fami****ise yourself with the applicable charges by a debt collector and refer to the Debt Council's website: www.cfdc.org.za. Be that as it may, we have agreed on an exceptionally basis to waive the consultation fee and the amended agent statement will be forwarded to yourself reflecting banking details etc. Your overdue account was handed over already 2 months ago with no payment evident. Under the circumstances s we suggest that you effect payment soonest to avoid the escalation of further collection fees in terms of the Debt Collectors Act. Regards.
