***** in charging fees

Vericred collectors are *****ing money, they charge fees for work not done. So called SMs's, Calls made and emails sent. I have proof of only 3 emails received EVER from them, but are charged numerous fees for emails sent. i've never received an SMS from them, but are charged for 2x SMS's every month. I've NEVER received a call from them but are charged for calls they claim was made to me. I have asked for proof and now they are just ignoring me. THe receipting fee is not as per the debt collectors act, their so called receipting fee is actually a settlement fee, which is a once off fee when they provide you with a settlement. I have reported you to the debt Council for ********* practice. I will no longer pay this account to you until you have reversed all the fees charged when you have not done any work. I know how collections work, and you cannot charge if you have not done the work.

Good day STOFFEL, thank you for your report. We can assure you that there is no '*****' involved with the collection charges as is being claimed. VeriCred is registered with the Council for Debt Collectors as well as the Association of Debt Recovery Agents (ADRA). As a result our charges are strictly in adherence to and in accordance with the laid down procedures as stipulated in the Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998. We have investigated your claims in this regard. We apologise that the relevant people have not rep**** to your enquiry. The contact number on file (which differs from the one you quote in this report) was the number which was provided to us when our client 'Van Zyl Anestesioloë' handed your overdue account over for collection in 2016 which was provided by you to them on date of service, also the number on which VeriCred endeavoured to contact you and where sms's were sent. The email address is however correct . Be that as it may, we have amended your contact number accordingly and all relevant sms costs and call charges were reversed on the account in question as a gesture of goodwill. With regards to your comments on 'receipting fee', please take cognisance of the fact that it is 100% correct and in order. Receipting fee of 10% (plus VAT of 15%) is charged on each payment in accordance with the Debt Collectors Act. The relevant charges by a Debt Collector is evident on the Council's website for your perusal: www.cfdc.org.za'. (these charges are exclusive of VAT). Kind regards, VeriCred Collections.

Your so called gesture of good faith is a joke. You know that you cannot proof contact made and that charges was raised **********ly. You may be registered with the Debt Council but the fact still remains that you cannot charge for sms/calls or emails made if they were not made? It has nothing to do with old numbers as I still have the same numbers since 2012 and NO attemps was made from your side. The "correct" email address is also only 1 email from you that was only in 2017, the other emails was responding to my queries. Your receipting fee of 10% plus VAT as per the the Debt collectors council, if you raise a receipting fee, then you can only charge receipting fee and not charge for sms/calls/emails etc as well. I am still waiting for proof of emails/calls/sms delivered... Even if charges were reversed, I would like to see your proof.
