Experian Credit Report status says account closed.

I have noticed that my credit status with Experian for Direct Axis states that my account is closed I notified Vericred whom am paying the particular account with. I also checked XDS which does not show the account at all. Vericred says I must continue paying the account because I have already started paying the account. When I asked of my account statement they said they are charging 39 for that. Need some advise on how to tackle this issue.

Good day, after confirmation received from our client Direct Axis, the account is with VeriCred and as mentioned by you, you should continue with payments. You also mentioned to our agents that you cancelled the debit order as you would like to make manual payments. Be that as it may, your comment about "R39 charge", please take note that VeriCred is registered with the Council for Debt Collectors as well as the Association of Debt Recovery Agents (ADRA). As a result there will naturally be charges on the overdue account that was handed over for collection, VeriCred strictly adhere to the laid down procedures as stipulated in the Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998. The relevant charges are on the Council's website for you to view: www.cfdc.org.za. The applicable charge thus for a statement to be faxed/via email is R39-90 inclusive of 14% VAT. Regards, VeriCred Collections (Pty) Ltd.
