Beware of ************ debt collectors

<p>Yesterday I received a call from Nontle an employee from Vericred Collections: Port Elizabeth stating that my account has been handed over for debt collection. The account is for a book that i apparently took at a Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal Library. I explained to her that i have never taken a book at that Library and i have never stayed in Port Elizabeth. Surprisingly Notle was very rude, even threatened to blacklist me with the Credit Bureau. I kept telling her that she has the wrong person and she started harrasing me. Calling me several times on my landline and cellphone number. I made a simple phone call to the municipality only to find that my ID number does not even exist at their database and they gave me the ID number of the actual person who took the books from the Library. I am very disgusted by how Nontle accused me of taking books that I never took and her threats of blacklisting me for something that i have never done. I am even shocked at the way in which debt collectors deal with people. This is unacceptable and especially when she had not done a proper research to actually see that she got the wrong person. On top of that she harrasses the wrong person. Is this how Vericred Collections deal with citizens when they follow up on debts? Do they just target people with similar names without doing proper research? This is totally unacceptable and it needs to be dealt with because after all we are humans and deserve to have dignity and respect.</p>
