Thank you for your report. Further to your allegations, kindly take cognisance that, contrary to your comments, you have paid less than the amount that you owe Ampath. Be that as it may, you did not pay your outstanding account with Ampath hence handed over to a collection company. As a result you are also duly liable to settle the legal collection costs accrued on the overdue account in terms of the Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998. The account in question was handed over in September 2015 and your last payment effected was in December 2015. VeriCred Collections (Pty) Ltd is registered with the Council for Debt Collectors as well as the Association of Debt Recovery Agents (ADRA) and our charges are strictly in accordance with the laid down procedures. The relevant charges is evident for your perusal on the Council's website: www.cfdc.org.za. We have however on an exceptional basis agreed to waive a portion of the outstanding collection cost at present as a gesture of goodwill. Under the circumstances it will be in your best interest to conclude repayment arrangements as a matter of urgency to avoid the escalation of the cost. In conclusion, you will thus still be contacted by VeriCred, and not harassed as you claim, until such time that the account in question is settled in full.
