Another Company aimed at Ripping People Off

To whom it may concern,

I hate writing these mails but thinking that I need to pay an extra 30 bucks to get a letter from you is actually disgusting and borderline a ****.

I know that payments get away from people and in my case, similar to the last. I did not receive any bills or paper work until it was handed over. The Vericred consultant called and I said i didn't receive anything. She mailed my bill and I told her on the 26th (today) I will call her and will make payment. Which I did. (Not one of those bad guys who let debt run mad and did the right thing) Paid it in full and sent proof of payment. Thinking all is well but NO!!

No where in any mails/calls was I advised of the extra charge which is bad practice on your side and nor did I ask for a clearance letter but I asked for acknowledgement of my payment via e-mail. No where did I agree to this being handed over to you or agreed to whatever Terms of Use you have to milk money out of people.

The lady I spoke to was very helpful and its not her fault that you have such outdated practices.

The extra charge isn't a big thing but to pay for a courtesy e-mail or acknowledgement of a payment is a load of ****.

Will do my best to Hello Peter etc the **** out of this.

Hope you feel great about Ripping people off!! Companies like yours is whats wrong with society.

Good day, thank you for your report. Further to the comments, please note that VeriCred is registered with the Association of Debt Recovery Agents coupled with the Council for Debt Collectors and as such we have to strictly adhere to the laid down instructions as pertained in the Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998. The relevant charges that can be charged by debt collectors can be viewed on the website of the Debt Council: www.cfdc.org.za. The cost of a clearance letter that you mention is R30-78 including VAT and is to be presented to the service provider to have the credit details of a consumer updated on the credit bureau. In this instance there is no blacklisting involved thus no clearance letter to be issued and we have under separate advice forwarded you the statement, with no additional fees involved, as proof that the account was settled in full. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused in this regard. The matter was escalated to the parties concerned to ensure that in future these details are fully explained and to avoid any re occurrences of this nature.
Kind regards, VeriCred Collections (Pty) Ltd.
