The allegations of us "preying 'in' the sick" is simply not true. Due to no payment to the service provider (i.e. our client), they handed your overdue account over and instructed us to collect on their behalf. Please take cognisance that we are a reputable company in operation for 32 years, registered with the Council for Debt Collectors and in reply to your question, our actions are in fact perfectly legal and in accordance with all laid down legislation.
Our records reflect that the outstanding balance on your account is in respect of the legal collection fees accrued in terms of the Debt Collectors Act, 114 of 1998, Annexure B and for which a debtor is liable. Please refer to the Council's website for the applicable charges by a debt collector: www.cfdc.org.za.
Be that as it may, the hand over amount was paid within a month after handover and under the circumstances we have agreed on an exceptional basis to waive the outstanding fees as a gesture of goodwill.
The account in question is thus closed accordingly.
