Ampath and Vericred
REF *** I received excellent service from Vericred June 2020 with a payment I had to do to Ampath from which I never received an account post op for blood tests. Ampath handed me over for debt collection without ever sending an invoice to me post-op from their Accounts department. Excellent service in helping me resolve my problem and paying the outstanding account: Graatjie Jacobs, Dan Tshwane, Shaun Le Roux out of Ampath debtors collection department. 1. I still find it stranger that a company doing debt collections can't first check that a client had 3 unpaid accounts before they accept the instruction. How can a person be handed over to a debt collecting company if they never received an account of debts to pay. I find it immoral that a client that never received any accounts or had at least 3 unpaid accounts from Ampath handed over to a debt collection company. 2. Two years after my surgical procedure and 7 months after I paid the Ampath account of R652.70 I now receive a new amount from Vericred to pay. R177.41 3. Here is the review for Ampath today. Ampath Accounts. 1. I was hospitalized during Dec 2020 for surgery. Ampath did blood tests for the doctor during my one and a half a day in hospital. As I found out 6 or 7 months later when I was handed over to a debt collector Ampath Accounts was paid for my covid test but not the blood tests. 2. My Discovery claims showed no record of a claim for the Ampath blood tests that was done in hospital. I remember a paid covid test on my Discovery claims record. 3. First question: Why did Ampath Accounts never lodge a claim from my medical aid or send an account to me as is normal practice for the blood tests, so the account could be paid. Every person collecting blood samples has access to a patient's info to fill in on their Ampath blood collection form or covid form. 4. I was handed over to Vericred REF ***, a debt collector 6-7 months after surgery without ever knowing I owed Ampath money. As far as I understand, IF Ampath sent me an account and it remained unpaid for at least 3 months then I got handed over to a debt collector. Where did the problem start. As I can see the AMPATH Accounts department was negligent and never sent out an account to me. I then got handed over as a result of Ampath's inefficiency and negligence to send out an account for payment, not because of my non-payment as I was not aware of outstanding account payments. 5. I find it an insult to my integrity to be handed over to a debt collector because of negligence and bad work performance on the Ampath's Accounts side. I don't like to pay for their mistakes. That is non-negotiable. 6. I communicated with Veriicred via email during JAN 2021. Discovery paid the amount of R652.70 for the blood tests into my bank account which I paid to Vericred on their request very promptly. That was the full amount owed to Ampath. ***. 7. Now I receive a sms 111/2022 from Vericred for the amount of R177.41. I suspect Vericred is charging a fee or interest. I refuse as a matter of principle to pay any more money after my Ampath account has been settled to settle an account for Ampath's negligence and inefficient accounts claims. I would suggest as Ampath didn't do their work at the accounts department they now carry the cost of the interest or fee which ever it is as the cost is theirs for their bad work ethic or performance in the accounts department. I am not paying for that. I pay for Ampath's services(which is excellent) but not their mistakes or bad accounts services and job performance. 8. I should never have been handed over to Vericred as the result of Ampath Accounts' bad work performance or negligence in the Accounts department, because I didn't have any unpaid accounts because the account had never been sent out to the patient. 9. As a matter of principle I am not paying interest or collection fees because of Ampath's bad service or work performance in their Accounts Department. I have paid them for their services and suggest they carry the cost themselves for their own accounts non-charge deficiency or negligence. It is not mine to pay. I suggest Ampath have a look at their request to a client to pay for their Accounts department ineffiency and I am sure they will agree, the cost is theirs to carry themselves. I demand this account now settled as I did pay the full amount for the blood tests very promptly when I became aware of the account. I can't even imagine how I can now be charged a fee or interest for Ampath's mistakes after they neglected to send any invoice for months on end. Now I am sent a reminder of payment for R177.41. This cost of negligence Ampath should carry themselves. I expect this to be cleared from my account with immediate effect. Thank you.
