Dishonest Handling of Deposit
Our relationship with V&B (specifically Brenda Kerr) has been a litany of frustrations but the handling of the deposit is the last straw.

We moved out of our rented house on 17 Jan. To date we have not received our deposit of R4500 back. I received an email yesterday saying that we will be charged R3500 for the sanding of the floors.

What Brenda and the landlady, Faye Karriem 'forget' (in Faye's words) is that the floors were in a state when we moved in. The landlady wanted to sand them in Feb 2013, but we declined her offer as it would've been too disruptive. I sent our email correspondence from that time to remind her. She claims we'd already been living there for a year (we moved in Mar 2012) and so that the extent of the damage was due to us (which was significant), and that the floors were 'neat' when we moved in. She knows this is not true or possible and she had no intention of charging us for the sanding then.

Unfortunately we did not include the floor in our 'list of defects' as although they were in a state having them sanded would've been too disruptive.

This feels like a convenient loophole to get the floors sanded on our account. And it's deliberately dishonest.
