Private Education? More like an Utter Disgrace

Where do I begin?

Well, for one, I have been studying at various institutions across multiple faculties for years and I have never had an experience as terrible as the two torturous years spent at Varisty College.

From day one registration was shambles and communication was non existent. The standard of education was poor and there was no consistency between campuses. However, I persisted and survived my first year only to find the disappointment escalate exponentially in my second year.

Now, after compulsory (and frankly utterly useless) academic counselling to discuss the upcoming year, once again the registration was a mess with incorrect modules being loaded, financial statements being incorrect and no one correcting the email errors whereby I continuously received year one emails instead of year two. Once again, inconsistencies across campuses became apparent when fellow students received financial rewards for distinctions in the previous year and we were told that that doesn't happen.

Okay, so after logging a million tickets on the portal, the academic issues started. I am a strong student who always puts in exceptional effort so when an assignment questions are repeated from the previous year, yet we are expected to achieve a low plagiarism index when answering identical questions, I tend to be mildly displeased. The joke is that when this was queried I was told that it is unfortunate because not many people take both modules... How about just changing the assignments... Seriously, for R2300 a month per student I would think some effort could be put in.

Oh, let's now discuss Zulu. Part time students are expected to pitch for modules that are firstly not timetabled correctly and secondly the lecturer isn't present or doesn't teach. We somehow had to self-study Zulu in a month and a half, with zero tuition only to be slapped with an oral from hell. Once again, what was I paying for?

Finally, two years are over... but wait... VC has more. I receive a statement... my account is in credit... I query this with the finance staff.. They confirm it... I complete the refund form... VC replies to say " your account isn't in credit, check your statement"... I reply with a screenshot from the same department saying it is.... So who wants to bet on the next issue? It surely won't be anything good...

Oh, yes and I am stuck with them until they can release certificates in May/June 2022... Let's hope they can at least spell names correctly as they certainly can't do anything else right.
