Emeris (ADvTECH) – Rosebank campus relocation to Waterfall/Midrand

I am a fee-paying parent of a Hospitality Management student at Emeris Rosebank. When I enrolled my daughter at Rosebank, I chose it specifically for its central location and accessibility. That was not a preference — it was a necessity. Emeris has now decided, unilaterally, to relocate the entire Hospitality programme to their Waterfall campus in Midrand from 2027. Families were simply informed. Not asked. Just told the decision is "final." The distance is the issue. The Waterfall campus is approximately 21 km further from the Rosebank campus — each way. That means my daughter will travel an additional 42 km per day, five days a week, for the remainder of her qualification. Beyond the money, there is the safety factor. My daughter will now be forced to navigate more complex and expensive modes of transport, directly exposing her to increased safety risks and the general uncer*****y of travelling across Johannesburg daily.

Their "solutions" don't work: The 15% discount on 2027 fees is a once-off gesture. It does not come close to covering the ongoing transport costs — and it does nothing for the safety risk. Sandton campus? Not accredited for Hospitality, so apparently not an option.

The decision is final I am calling on other affected parents to make their voices heard — Hello Peter, social media, the CEO's office, and, if necessary, the relevant education authorities. Do not enrol your child at Emeris Rosebank on the assumption that the campus will remain what it is. It won't.
