WARNING! PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING THE VARSITY COLLEGE CONTRACT, YOU ARE NOT PROTECTED

<p>I was a student at UNISA doing my BCOM Degree. i decided to join Varsity College (2017) because of the support they said they offer to their part time Students. The main selling point was the idea that i could log on to their portal and catch-up on lectures if i miss any classes or if i needed more information on a particular topic, which never happened. Over and above the assignments, There are tasks that you need to submit to test your understanding of the work covered, that never happened as well.To date only one lecturer has loaded information that was promised. i contacted the college and they could not assist me, i went in to see their administration department more twice and also made numerous calls and they also could not assist me, they ended up sending the information via email 2 days before the exam. Now while preparing for the exam students were expected to also complete their ICE tasks that also contribute to the year mark. i sent through an e mail asking the college to de-register me because i feel that they cannot provide me with what i need at this point and decided to go back to UNISA. Now i am told that i am liable to pay R28500.00 for the whole year because i have signed a contract regardless of the fact that i am not coming back for the second semester. I then received a letter signed by their Principal Mr Andre Lubbe stating that "please note that as per the cancellation terms and conditions on your registration contract (section 7.2.10) you are held 100% liable for your 2017 contract fees of (R28,160.00). The remaining balance on your account of R12,600.00 will have to be settled as per your payment plan" based on the contract that i signed, i am now liable to pay the full amount even though i did not get the service that was promised to me. I feel that the college is only worried about making money, hence they will do anything to protect their book (Revenue) please get all the information before signing contracts also read reviews from other students and please do not take these WARNINGS lightly. use your money somewhere alse. Varsity College is only interested in your money and once you sign the contract there is nothing you can do.</p>
