Varsity College Rondebosch is just Greedy for your Money

I would recommend all potential students considering to study with Varsity College to go elsewhere. Varsity College Rondebosch, has ***********, dishonest and unreliable staff member.

My story starts in 2014, when I decided to do a higher certificate in Business. Everything was fine, except for one lecture and lecturer. After numerous complaints from students, Varsity college informed the lecturer he would be put on review, because that morning he arrived early to inform us that someone would be sitting in on the lecture. After completing the year and doing very well in all my other modules, I had failed this one. The HOD was supposed to contact me about writing a special exam but failed to do so, as I am still waiting for her to contact me.

BUT THIS IS WHERE MY REAL PROBLEM LIES! In 2015, I would back to Varsity College to do a Degree in Psychology, which was basically through UNISA. This year was the biggest waste of my time. My parents paid upfront and in full for the year, and I after, much consideration, decided it would be best to study solely through UNISA. The reasons being, I live quite far away from the Campus, and while siting in traffic for hours, I would get an SMS to notify me that the lecture was cancelled, and would only receive it when I got there. Most of the Lecturers were *********** and mainly gave us paperwork to read instead of lecturing. Before the first semester ended me and my dad went in to Varsity College to inform them that we were not happy with the services rendered and gave them the reasons as to why I would not be coming back fo the second semester. We spoke to the Dean, who promised us the World. He gave us many options, one of which was that the money would stay in an account with them and be carried over yearly, if it was not needed. For he had told us that I would be back for my third year or to do Honours. As discussed in the meeting, they contacted me yearly to ask if I would be coming back that year. Each year I informed them that I was doing well and wouldn't be returning.

Last year they had not contacted me via phone, but I had got an email regarding documents needed for the course I did in 2014. After discussing the problems I was advised that I could still do the special exam, but to this day I am still waiting on the Student Hub to inform me about if I can write this exam. After receiving this email I emailed the finance department at Varsity College, for the Psychology course I did in 2015 was no longer offered at Varsity College, and I informed them that they can't offer me anything else, so I would Like to be refunded of my money, so that I can study my Honours elsewhere. To my surprise, I was informed by the finance department that they had sent me and my father documents telling us that the money would be claimed by them after 2016 and that if we didn't want this we had to fill in a form of cancellation to get get the money. After going back and forth, I had sent them proof that no documents or any emails was sent to me or my father, regarding this money or what could be done with it. They are now not taking responsibility for their wrong doing and are lying and going back on what they have previously stated. How can me and my father both hear wrong in one meeting? They are now refusing to refund us half of the year funds, which is a lot of money. Who can throw that away money away in todays times? After sending them numerous emails and them not responding since November last year, I am now here writing a complaint to warn everyone else to never go to this institute, as they do not care about the students, they are dishonest, and will do everything to just get your money.
