Terrible Education Institution

I began studying at Varsity College in Jan 2016. The enthusiasm I received from VC prior to enrolling in their course was incredible! Unfortunately this level of enthusiasm and helpfulness dramatically increases once you are student and I cannot express enough just how disappointed I am in this establishment. It is run as a business and by no means run as an educational institution where the student's needs are a priority.

I completed my first year of my Bachelor of Commerce in 2016. When I began my second year, I decided to transfer across to the part-time course due to financial reasons and the fact that I needed to hold down a full time job in order to pay for my fees. In March I organised a meeting with VC and clearly explained my situation. They seemed understanding and suggested that i deregister for all modules except for two (the two modules that the part-time course was completing currently) and then enroll in the part-time course in June 2017. I was told that this would be hugely beneficial to me because I would not have to pay the exurberant fees for the year and only pay for 2 modules up until June and then pay the part-time course fees which are a quarter of the full time fees - and I could hold down a job whilst still completely my studies.

It only went downhill from here! I had to fill in the application form to deregister from all modules THREE times as it kept getting 'lost' - please note that the fees I would be reimbursed for at this point would be calculated on a pro rata basis based on the date the form was submitted, so it was very convenient on Varsity College's part that it kept getting lost. Up until I cancelled my contract (June 2017) I was STILL registered for all modules. As one can imagine I was completely fed up at this point and decided to cancel my contract for this above reason AND to be completely honest the level of education received at VC is not what one would hope for and leaves one lacking a lot in all areas. Varsity College is now expecting me to pay a FULL year's fees even though I deregistered from all modules for the year in March. I was told at the time the only fees I would have to pay is for the two modules I was still registered for. I have appealed to Varisty College twice and they are still insisting I pay the full fees. I have proof of all the above in email documentation between VC and I, as well as a 5 page in depth explanation of the whole situation.

I honestly cannot express enough the trouble that VC has put me through. The stress they have put on me - emotionally and financially. I was in tears countless times in their offices out of pure frustration with each time they saying they 'understand' my situation and completely in agreement with me yet each time, not one person even attempted to resolve the situation. Cant help but think that all they really care about is one's money. Truly and utterly disappointed!
