No compassion at all for students , All they want is money

Varsity College really does not care about students especially international students. I am in my final year at Varsity college Cape Town campus. Last year I lost my father who sponsored my studies to Covid 19. This took a toll on my family both mentally and financially. I app**** for a covid relief bursary which clearly stated the requirements were that you needed to have paid the previous years fees in full and prior to my father dying he paid my fees fully for 2020. My bursary application was denied due to me having repeat modules. I don’t understand how a covid relief bursary could be given based on marks and not to those who were truly impacted by covid and had their lives turned upside down. I would have understood if at all the bursary could have covered my other modules and I had to pay for my repeat modules on my own. I am currently being deregistered from what is supposed to be my final semester of BCEC which is being phased out and I won’t get the chance to complete my degree even though I have pleaded with Varsity college to arrange some way for me to pay the money slowly and complete what’s left of my degree. I have been working part time as much as I can but the lack of compassion or care for students shown by this institution is unbelievable. Especially at a time when institutions around the world are helping students during this crazy pandemic that has left so many of us in situations beyond our control. I have pleaded with Varsity college to let me complete my degree and work towards paying my fees.

Varsity College is truly a Money making institution and that’s all that matters to them.
