Contaminated food and poor customer service

We purchased food from Varsity bakery (VB). Bread, Cold Drink, Chips, Vienna and Atchaar. <br> We were eating and one of us was pouring out the atchaar into the chips. We then noticed a discolouring on the atchaar. On inspection we saw mould on the atchaar.<br> We then returned to the store to show them the product.<br> 1. The manager's first response was that it was not their atchaar and the supplier was to blame.<br> 2. After indicating that we bought from VB, the manager the agreed to refund the food that had been contaminated<br> 3. While refunding us another lady then came and asked why we would pour the atchaar without checking. We indicated that it was done by another person but was still inconsequential.<br> 4. she then asked us to show her the oil from the atchaar in the chips before they refunded us. I then said that I am not touching the food<br> 5. She then wanted to weigh the chips and give a pro-rata amount<br> 6. She also indicated there was no obligation to refund us.<br> 7. We then returned the money and took the contaminated food.
