product not as advertised

I paid R10 000 for a queen size Tempur mattress topper at Brooklyn, Pretoria, in 2012. After it was worn in, it became very comfortable to sleep on. In 2014 I bought a second queen sized topper for R15 000 from Hyde Park, for my second home. This one turned out to be much softer than the original one I had bought in 2012. It is less dense and does not provide the same level of support and quality of sleep for me personally. Pharmaline head office later informed me that they were now importing the softer version as it sells better. However, they never informed their customers that the mattress topper had changed and they still display the old topper on some of their showroom floors. I feel this is misleading advertising. I have never been able to sleep as well on the softer topper and will now have to pay R17 000, which is the current price, if I want to import the older firmer topper from their supplier in Europe. This is quite a big outlay. They should have communicated with their customers that they had changed the product, since one can't see this by looking at it. Both the old and new products look the same.
