Stinking attitude

I walked into the empty store and stood for a full minute at the till watching the two salespeople behind the till having a casual conversation. Not once did they acknowledge my presence. Eventually, realising that I was not going to be attended to, I interrupted and asked for the item I went to buy. The saleslady (no name tag) rudely and loudly turned on me -with no apology or pretence that she hadn't seen me waiting - and raised her voice: \GOOD MORNING!!!"I repeated my request and the gentleman she had been talking to went to help. She mumbled something rude (i believe she may have threatened or berated me directly in Afrikaans) and went on to play with her cellphone. I'm horrified that such blatant verbal aggression was displayed to me - an adult"

Hello Dr Anne,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We investigated the matter as good customer service is very important to us.

The matter was addressed on a managerial level. We do suspect there might have been some miscommunication though, as we have no Afrikaans staff at that particular branch.

However, we do apologise for the inconvenience you suffered and hope your next experience will be a much more pleasant one.

We wish you all of the best with your studies.

Kind regards

Melanie Foxcroft
