********** online shopping and customer service experience.

This is by far the worst online shopping, and customer experience I have ever received.

Purchased all my books for the 1st and 2nd semester at the beginning of the year and selected each book based on the results presented back when searching using the ISBN number for the books required.

Order was delayed and when I arrived in-store at the Rondebosch office to collect there was confusion as to my order. However, once they eventually found my order, I was too happy to leave the store, so took my box and left.

Fast Forward, I am going through my books and realise that the book I had originally ordered and what I had received were different editions. I immediately went back to the online store, searched and saw that based on my search the only book presented was the one I had originally ordered and still the only book available against that ISBN number, as per at the time of order.

Posted a comment directly on their site, and called the helpline where I was greeted by a rather unenthusiastic, unhelpful, and dismissive Lebone Phele. Who promptly informed me, without bothering to look at my order or refer to the search I had performed, that she was unable to assist me. After approximately 5 mins she eventually decided to search against my order/ and refer to the search I had mentioned and then promptly informed me if I wanted help, I would need to escalate via email.

Which I did, only to receive a response that is blatantly a poor excuse for a mismanaged online shopping experience, haphazard user experience and absolutely NO customer service etiquette whatsoever. I say this as I was basically told that I searched for an ISBN number and then proceed to navigate and order the exact opposite thing of what I was searching for and it was my problem, not theirs... (basically, I was told regardless of my years of experience in Customer Service, User Experience and App/ Web Development, that I'm an idiot) Oh and that the book I need is not available.

If you're a student buying books, find a store that will actually have what you need. If you're a parent purchasing on behalf of a student, please don't waste your money with this store, your student either won't receive the book on time or it will be the incorrect book that will ruin the learning experience.
