Value Logisitics, DEFINITELY NOT to be TRUSTED or RE**** upon!
We used Value Logistics to transport a batch of half lamb in boxes and never again!
We bought into their supposed 'trusted and reliable partner' brand as advertised on their website but they turned out to be EVERYTHING but that!
They sent one driver, to collect the load, for a 14 hour drive, knowing full well the driver would need to stop en route to go to the bathroom and buy food, which he did at Kokstad for one whole hour, and liklely left the truck completely unnatttened, where people could just open the truck and help themselves to beautiful, FREE Range Premium boxed lamb.
Value NEVER asked, suggested or even just put a seal on the back of the truck, which ONLY cost R2.78, which can be used to prevent theft or show that the truck has been opened or tampered with.
Needless to say, R36k of lamb was ****** en route and Value refused to answer any questions was to why they never offered/suggested or in fact just affixed a seal, so we could claim from insurance.
We are assuming that the lambs were ******, whilst the driver went to the bathroom and/or lunch but we will never know, all we know is 20 boxes dissappeared en route
They then went through the motions of doing an investigation and then advised that as we had agreed/signed their T's and C's, they were not liable in any way and then in the blink of an eye, handed us over to their legal team, who tried to muzzle us!
Long story short, we now cannot claim from insurance, as we did in fact take out insurance but our insurance needs evidence of tampering etc, which naturally we dont have as we never had a a seal and never even thought about it and as mentioned, Value never made mention of it and we cannot understaand why they did not just affix one, as its quite standard for trucks to have seals.
In fact, Idube Cold Storage, where we shipped the lambs to, will NOT accept any truck WITHOUT a seal, for this very reason and Value knew we were sending it there.
We believed we had selected a trusted, reliable partmer in Value Logisitcs. Their quote was themost expensieve and we bought into their claims of being 'trusted and relaible' and BOY HOW WRONG WE WERE!!
So, if anyone who reads this is considering use Value dont believe their slogan as they are everything but trusted and reliable and they WILL hide behind their T's cand C's but trust me, when it comes to trying to get NEW busiensss, they will call you endlessly to sign you up and take your money!
