ValueYourCar.co.za - defected car sold
Bought a car a week ago , the dealer claimed it had a full service history and no engine defects were mentioned. After only 5 days of using the vehicle oil was leaking , after checking the oil it was almost empty. Secondly the radiator water was completely leaked out. Lastly the windscreen water bottle has a hole in it and can't hold any water. It is clear to me that i have been misled into buying this vehicle, and it is obvious that the vehicle has a lot of mechanical issues. I now have to get the car repaired as it is undriveable.

We have investigated the matter further and have noted that you have purchased a 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.6i on 05 March 2022. When a vehicle is sold, the customer completes a full inspection of the vehicle and takes the vehicle for a test drive as well – which was completed by yourself on 05 March 2022. Prior to this vehicle being sold, the vehicle went in for an oil change and the oil level had been checked by yourself and your father on the date of sale, prior to you leaving the property. As this vehicle is a 16 year old, second hand vehicle – it is always advisable to note that wear and tear should be taken into account, we can confirm that a R12900 discount was provided to you as well, as the vehicle was selling for R69900 originally. We would like to note that we will always disclose mechanical problems with the vehicle that we are aware of, however, this particular vehicle was completely functional when you took for a test drive and whilst in our care for weeks prior to that.
