I am writing this review based on my experience with Vaal Breeze Aircon Repairs in Vereeniging. Our air conditioner stopped working in January 2026. We initially contacted another company, Cool Saving (Vusi), who inspected the unit and diagnosed a leak. They repaired it towards the end of January at a cost of **R1,390**. Unfortunately, approximately one month later, the air conditioner stopped working again. Cool Saving informed us that they could no longer assist as they had relocated to Nelspruit. We then contacted **Vaal Breeze Aircon Repairs**, who came out towards the end of February 2026. They also found a leak in the pipe running from the air conditioner towards the wall and repaired it. The charge was **R835**, which we considered very reasonable. I complimented them on their excellent and affordable service at the time and made payment the following day. On 4 March, Nicole contacted me complaining that she had not received the proof of payment. I immediately sent it to her. Unfortunately, the air conditioner stopped working again in June 2026. I tried contacting Vaal Breeze, but their telephone number was no longer available. In July, I eventually found their number again and contacted them. I had to contact them twice to confirm the appointment, as I was informed that Herman Engelbrecht was working out of town. They eventually came out on **15 July 2026**. Once again, they found a leak in the same general area where the previous leak had been repaired. I was told this time that it was the other pipe. Later that afternoon, Nicole sent me an invoice for **exactly the same amount as the previous repair – R835**. I was told that she had not charged me for the pipe, which made me question why the invoice was exactly the same amount as the previous repair. I nevertheless intended to make payment the following day. The following morning, Nicole contacted me again regarding payment. I explained that payment would be made that afternoon. At this point, I simply asked a reasonable question: **Was there any warranty or guarantee on their repair work if the air conditioner stopped working again, considering that I had now spent almost R3,000 on what appeared to be the same leak/problem?** This is when the conversation became extremely unpleasant. Instead of simply explaining their warranty or guarantee policy, Nicole became extremely rude and accused us of always having a problem when it came to payment. She also referred to us as **“***gatte.”** I informed her that I had never experienced such poor customer service and that I would be writing a review about my experience. Her response was even more concerning. She threatened to sue us and stated that she would notify other people and post reviews about our guesthouse, including allegations that our guesthouse is dirty and comments about *** people staying at the guesthouse. I find this behaviour completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. And unfortunately, there is now an even bigger issue: **The air conditioner has stopped working AGAIN, after only approximately one month since the latest repair.** So, after spending approximately **R1,390 with Cool Saving and R835 with Vaal Breeze, and having the air conditioner repaired multiple times for what appears to be the same leaking problem, the air conditioner has once again stopped working.** This is extremely disappointing. I have no problem paying for a service that has been properly rendered, and I have paid Vaal Breeze for their previous work. My concern was simply whether there was any warranty or guarantee on the repair, particularly when the same problem keeps occurring. What started as a positive experience with Vaal Breeze because of their affordable pricing and apparently good service ended in a very unpleasant experience. A business's pricing can be affordable, but **professionalism, quality workmanship and respectful customer service are equally important.** I would strongly recommend that Vaal Breeze Aircon Repairs review both their repair work and the way customer queries and complaints are handled. Customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about a repair, especially when the same problem occurs repeatedly, without being insulted or threatened with retaliatory reviews. For me, the biggest disappointment is that the air conditioner is **not working again after only one month following the latest repair.** I would have preferred to resolve this matter professionally and amicably, but unfortunately the way this was handled has left me with no confidence in the service or the customer relations of this company.
