Refusal to pay deposit back

This is probably the worst decision I could've made to rent from Uvest properties. I have been a loyal paying rentee until the day I had given notice and vacated the premises. Upon enquiring about my deposit I'm being told about things that was already there when I moved in. During the inspection, the inspector indicated the faults in the house was not my responsibility but that of the owner . I feel quite upset to see on my exit quotation that I am responsible for the painting of the walls and cleaning of the yard. The contact person inform me that when I moved in the only thing indicated was that there was marks on the kitchen counters. However when I moved in the walls was dirty like that and if I knew that I would be responsible for something like painting the walls then I would've done it but I didn't know.

So now I am being kept liable for painting of walls amounting to R4600 which is outrageous!!! This is quite upsetting to say the least. No one felt the need to communicate these things prior to the processes being completed. I've been sending emails regarding my deposit and no one feels the need to communicate about what's happening. It's really saddening to say the least about your customer service.
