Experian Failed to Investigate Incorrect DMC Listing on My Credit Profile
I am lodging a complaint against Experian South Africa regarding their handling of my dispute related to a DMC-listed account on my credit profile. I formally disputed this listing; however, the matter was closed without proper investigation, and I was incorrectly asked to submit documentation relevant to *****, which does not apply in my case. My dispute is based on inaccuracy and lack of proof, not *****. For clarity:
I previously had a Finchoice account, which has since been closed; My last payment was made in November 2023; I have not entered into any new agreement with Finchoice thereafter; The account currently being reported by DMC does not align with my account history, and I do not recognise this specific listing.
This alleged debt has also been passed through multiple entities: Finchoice → Norton Lambrianos → MBD → DMC Despite this, of concern is that:
No signed credit agreement has been provided; No proof of disbur*****t of funds has been shown; No complete chain of cession has been verified; No proper link between this account and myself has been established beyond internal records.
Experian closed the dispute without ensuring that the credit provider provided verifiable documentary proof, which is required to support the accuracy of data reported on a consumer’s credit profile. It is unacceptable that inaccurate or unverified information continues to reflect against my name due to a failure to properly investigate. I request that Experian:
Reopen and properly investigate this dispute; Require DMC to provide full documentary proof of the alleged debt; Remove the listing if such proof cannot be provided.
I expect a proper and fair resolution in line with consumer protection and credit reporting obligations.
