Complaint: Experian Failing to Correct My Credit Profile

I am extremely dissatisfied with the manner in which Experian is handling inaccuracies on my credit profile.

I currently have two issues that I have formally disputed with supporting documentation:

Paid-up account still reflecting arrears: An account that was previously in arrears has been paid in full. I obtained a formal paid-up letter from the creditor and submitted it to Experian as supporting evidence. Despite this, the arrears information remains on my profile. Experian simply advised me to allow up to 60 days, closed the case, and has since been unresponsive to my attempts to obtain assistance. Cancelled insurance account still showing as active: I also cancelled an insurance account and received a formal cancellation confirmation letter. I submitted this documentation to Experian, yet the account is still reflected as an active account on my credit profile.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that TransUnion updated my record within approximately seven days after I submitted my dispute, whereas Experian appears unable or unwilling to resolve these matters despite having documentary proof.

Furthermore, I recently took out a small R1,500 credit facility, and this new account was reflected on my Experian profile almost immediately. This clearly demonstrates that information can be processed and reflected quickly when received from a credit provider.

I therefore request that Experian urgently reopen and properly investigate both disputes, verify the information with the relevant data providers, and correct my credit profile accordingly.

I have supp**** documentary evidence supporting both corrections. I do not believe consumers should simply be told to wait 60 days while demonstrably incorrect information continues to affect their credit profile, particularly when other credit information is being updated far more quickly.

I expect Experian to provide a proper response, correct the inaccurate information, and explain why these legitimate corrections have not been processed despite the supporting documentation already submitted.
