The level of disregard from the University of the Free State is downright appalling

I am a student, Peterus Chauke, student number ********** 19 who graduated at the University of Free State and could not receive my physical qualification due to fees that were outstanding and in a process to be settled by NSFAS. I have already started paying my NSFAS debt and when I called the University on Tuesday, 12 March to follow up on the release of my qualification which I desperately need for my career purposes, I was told that I cannot be assisted as there are funds still outstanding on my account. I requested the statement of account to be emailed to me for verification purposes since I am based in North West Province and cannot make a casual trip just to get information on my account and I received an attitude response from the accounts personnel indicating that the statement will be mailed via post and I should just wait till then because they wont grant my request for assistance.

I took further liberty to contact NSFAS and received an indication that all fees were settled hence the collection process on their part had started.

The level of disregard and lack of empathy from the University personnel is downright appalling. The years spent and sacrifices made to complete my qualification and only to be treated as a failure who has no regard for his future. My life is on hold currently as I cannot make any work applications or business efforts only because of selfish and unwarranted officials/institution that is failing to apply any sense of due professional care.
