UCT Must Hold GetSmarter Accountable

I completed the Business Analysis course with UCT via GetSmarter in November 2024. I received my final grades on 6 February 2025, yet over a month later, I still have not received my certificate.

Despite multiple follow-ups with GetSmarter, I have received no clear updates or resolution. GetSmarter claims certificates are issued within a week of final grades, yet this is clearly not true. Many other students have reported similar issues, raising serious concerns about the reliability of these online courses.

Since this course is presented under UCT’s name, I expect UCT to take responsibility and ensure that students receive what they paid for and worked hard for. As a leading institution, UCT should hold its online education partners accountable, or it risks damaging its own reputation.

I urge UCT to step in and take action to resolve this issue. If UCT continues working with GetSmarter despite these ongoing problems, students will start questioning the credibility of its online programs.

I hope to receive my certificate soon and expect UCT to protect the integrity of its courses by ensuring students are not left in limbo after completing them.
