UCT housing in disarray

My son who is a straight A student and has no fees outstanding app**** for and was granted in 2015 a place at Obz Square for accommodation to complete his 2016 3rd year at University of Cape Town. The family lives in Gauteng and when he arrived on 1 Feb 2016 he had to spend the entire day in a queue without been granted permanent accommodation. This is with all his luggage and without food. Phoning student housing helped little. UCT housing allowed him to sleep overnight at Obz Square and today 2nd Feb he is still unsure what is going on. As parents we are stressed out and today the UCT phones go unanswered. So much for UCT being one of South Africas prestigious universities. A Warning to parents staying outside Cape Town and wanting to send their kids to UCT....
