Injured on duty treated as ill-health retirement-no pension received since 1988

<p>My husband was injured on duty while under the employ of UCT in&nbsp; March 1988. He was incapacitated as a direct result of this, so he could not work anymore. He received a lumpsum payment in lieu of the injury in January 1989. Thereafter he has not received any monthly payments from the pension fund, and this is what we have been fighting since 1989 to date. We have taken this matter up with Susan Williams, HR at UCT, but we were shunted from pillar to post, and we reported the matter to the Ombudsman as well, who sent us back to Susan Williams. We have not had any resolution on this matter, and my husband has subsequently passed away last year. I am not prepared to leave this matter pending because of my husbands death, because we fought this fight together, and now that he is not here anymore, I am more determined now than ever to get a resolution on this matter. All we needed to know is why there was no monthly pension payments made to my husband after he was declared unfit for duty, and nobody can give us any reasons why this was not done, or when they will start making payments if it was an error on their part. Instead of giving us a resolution, they sent us to GPF who were the administrators of the pension fund, who in turn sent us back to Susan Williams. So we are going around in circles and getting nowhere with this matter. If there is anyone who specialises in these matters to assist me in resolving this matter, it would be highly appreciated.
