Pathetic Service

<p>I requsted a quote from 3 suppliers to install gutters, all of which were on site at the same time, although Universal Roofing was 2nd best priced, I decided to go with them anyway, that was my first mistake. </p> <p>On the day of installation, I was called away from work because the installer wasn't given the plans, the installer on site found a problem with the quote. There was apparently a mix up between the rep and the office assistant. After two hours of being on the telephone and eventually contacting the owner Stanley Louw, I was told that they apologize for the mistake but could do nothing further, I would have to pay a further R3500 for the job, which then put them the most expensive quote by R3000. This was a R6000 job anyway. I even explained to the owner that I had an awning installation the day after which was dependant on the installation of my gutter, still nothing but a pathetic "sorry for the mistake, mistakes happen to everyone" Two hours of my day waisted because of their mistakes and mess ups, had to postpone a party because my awning installation had to be postponed as well. Bottom line, how do suppliers with such pathetic service attributes still survive in this challenging economy? Will only recommend this company to my worst enemy. Gutterco, eventually did the job, very proffessional and much better priced. </p>
