Univa delivered me a broken stove

I purchased a Univa stove on Takealot in September of 2020 and on delivery the timer on the stove wasn't working.

Fair enough it's just a timer so we didn't complain.

The problem however is with the oven.

Over time we realized the oven doesn't heat up, or grill, or cook anything. First we thought the oven was regulating the heat and switching on and off, but having to bake a ****in at 230 degrees and still not have it bake isn't normal.

I emailed Takealot who referred me to Univa as they're the supplier of the stove.

I called and email and asked if I could be refunded as the oven doesn't work on a brand new stove they had sold me.

I was informed that a technician would be dispatched.

The technician arrived the next day and told us that the heating element in the oven doesn't go over 100 degrees and that it has to be replaced.

Having received no feedback from Univa with whom I was communicating via email, I then emailed them again to ask what is happening.

They simply rep**** "The technician has ordered your parts".

No ETA. No explanation from them. Absolutely nothing. If the technician hadn't told me what was wrong, I still wouldn't have known.

Haven't still not received any communication from Univa, I called and spoke to the manager Jan who told me to contact Takealot to complain that I want a refund.

He told me that if I have a problem with the stove, I should load it up in my car and take it back to Takealot.

Having told him that I was directed to him because it's his product and not theirs, he told me there's nothing he can do and I will have to wait for them to repair the defunct oven.

I have still not had any communication from Univa of when the oven will be fixed. How long the parts will take to arrive. When the technician will be able to fix it. Absolutely nothing.

This has been such a horrible experience dealing with the Univa staff and the product being delivered with a broken oven and broken timer.
