Waiting forever for customs to clear a package

My package arrived in the beginning of November, i have phoned them everyday since then and still did not receive my package. Their tracking details are not up to date. I've paid what i had to pay and send them the proof a week after payment still the same answer we are waiting in customs to clear the package. This is unacceptable. What is going on over there??
