UPS South Africa A.K.A UNITED PIECE OF ****

UPS South Africa is the worst ever! I have to specify that I am complaining about the South African branch because the American one where the company originated is awesome. I am so saddened for the people who worked hard to build the name for this company to just have South African staff ruin their name. I had a package sent through UPS and it arrived to South Africa on Thursday the 30th of September. I got really excited thinking I'll soon receive my package but boy was I wrong. I saw a missed call from UPS and called them back (their customer service and phone line is ****ty by the way, I must have spent more than R400 airtime listening to their switchboard robot. And when they eventually answered the phone no one had any idea where my parcel was or when it was going to be delivered. I went to their offices in person to pay what they claimed was my customs duties... For two days the status of my order remained the same and when I called asking where my parcel was the girl I spoke to told me that they are still waiting for the money I paid to reflect into their bank account and I was like, ***** what you’re talking about? I paid with my credit card in your offices so what money is waiting to reflect? I later realized the girl had no clue what she was talking about, just behaving like a trained robot with generic answers. On Friday morning I called asking where my package was since I could not track it online and I was transferred to 3 people because they 2 initial people had no idea what to tell me and the third know it all told me it will be picked up by DMV or DSV or whatever the company is called) that evening from UPS then deliver to me in Durban. It was not up to one hour the package was delivered so proving that even the third lady had no idea what the **** she was talking about. I think it’s important for a company with a good reputation to train it’s staff and hold them responsible for any shortcomings. Otherwise a company will end up with empty vessels as workers like UPS South Africa. Just really shameful.
