UPS? More Like “Usually Poor Service”
**UPS – An Embarrassing Display of Poor Service, Communication and Accountability**
I am extremely disappointed with UPS and, frankly, the way this company has handled my shipment has been nothing short of disgraceful.
I paid the required duties and VAT on **24 August 2026** and submitted the required documentation, including my **ID, proof of payment and completed clearing instruction form**, on the same day.
Despite this, UPS failed to properly process my documentation or communicate with me.
I followed up on **26 August and 27 August** because I had received no meaningful response. On 28 August, I was then contacted and told that my ID had apparently not been provided.
The problem?
**I had already provided it on 24 August.**
I responded to Wendy Mbona's original email on 24 August and provided the documentation. I subsequently sent UPS the actual email evidence proving this.
What happened next?
**Silence.**
No proper response. No meaningful explanation. No accountability.
Instead, UPS has charged me a **R69 storage fee** while my shipment remains delayed.
This raises serious questions about the integrity of UPS's internal processes. How can a company claim that documentation was not provided when the customer can produce the original email proving that it was?
And when this evidence is presented to UPS, why is there still no response?
**UPS — United Parcel Service. The name promises “service,” but based on my experience, the only thing being delivered consistently is disappointment. Perhaps UPS should consider changing its name, because “service” is certainly not what I received.**
I have done everything expected of me:
• Paid the duties and VAT immediately. • Submitted my ID. • Submitted the clearing instruction form. • Provided proof of payment. • Followed up repeatedly. • Responded immediately whenever UPS contacted me. • Provided evidence when UPS incorrectly claimed my ID was missing.
Yet I am still the one left waiting, chasing UPS for answers and being charged for storage.
This is an **exceptionally poor level of service** from a company that should know better.
I would strongly encourage anyone dealing with UPS to **keep every email, payment confirmation and document**, because based on my experience, you may need to prove to UPS that you actually gave them information they already had.
UPS needs to take accountability, remove the storage charge, process my shipment and explain how this situation was allowed to happen in the first place.
**Extremely disappointing. Poor communication. Poor accountability. Poor service.**
