Ups is holding my goods for no reason but I paid their customs

My supplier shipped my goods with ups without my knowledge since it was my first time I gave it benefit of doubt. I was happy with the progress of my shipment until my good where in south africa on Friday 25 August . Calling them to give me an invoice for customs payment was very difficult. Sometimes they did not even answer their calls or hold for 30 mind or more. After they gave me the invoice I made payment and from there it's story after story. Now they say the goods are under inspection. I have decided to check their reviews and it wasn't surprising it seems as if it's their norm. My problem now is that I can see everyone is talking about the R5000 they will demand like a ransom from yu for them to release the goods and it seems as if lam going there. My parcel is a low low value shipment I don't know why they are doing this. After laying shipment fee the custom fee I paid is the same price I bought the goods and their different high fees they charge. I dont know what to do now. I wish my event did not use this. I have been shipping the same product with fedex but I have never had such an encounter. What inspection or it's just a way to demand money from me because now it's almost 2 weeks for an express shipping. We are actually losing trust in you.
