UPS is a Joke

I ordered an item from Amazon Germany and paid for Priority Shipping, which arrived in South Africa and was due to be delivered to me on Monday (25 March).

On Monday I get a message from Amazon that the delivery was 'attempted' and is now 'on hold, pending additional information'. I was at home on Monday, no attempt was made to deliver. Today (Tuesday 26 March) I get the exact same message, without anyone attempting to deliver the package.

I called the UPS number, and was told that the address is not updated. Firstly, I have ordered from them before, and my address has not changed. Secondly, if that was the case, and an actual attempt was made to deliver, can you not call me to ask what the address is?

I paid for Priority Shipping, this is a total farce, and completely disrespectful to the customer. I am not sure when this will now be delivered as they simply state 'Delivery Attempted'.
