UPS charging import duties for credit card shipments now.
I had a credit card shipped from Europe to South Africa by UPS - 1Z76447F ********** 743. I use PostNet to receive my mail. Today, I have received a phone call from the PostNet, informing me about a UPS courier demanding R250 to be paid cash for import duties.
Apparently, UPS is now charging import duties and VAT for credit cards too. Something I have never heard of before.
I have confirmed with other courier companies, there are no customs fees for credit card shippments.

14 Jan 2019, 11:13Now it gets even better, I just found out the delivery driver just sent the card back to Europe stating "The receiver determined this product order is too expensive and refused the delivery". I called the help desk, but after being put on hold for 20 min by Azola, no assistance at all. Stay away from UPS, I will for sure.
