The usual lousy service from UPS
What is it with the two American courier companies here in South Africa, UPS and Fedex. Every time I have to deal with them, there are always issues, ranging from no communication all the way through plain to incompetence, and just don't give a **** about their customers. Currently I have a shipment held up in Spain by UPS, that THEY claim contains a hazardous substance. The package contains plastic model kits F.F.S. There has been no communication from UPS over a week now, that has gone in any way towards resolving the situation. Complete and utter Muppets.

19 Apr 2022, 08:55Great, now I can deal with a courier that can actually deliver. How are you going to refund me for the payment I made to UPS seeing as you have not fulfilled your side of the transaction.
You also claim that you could not ship the package in question as it contained dangerous goods. Nobody at UPS can tell what they were. Secondly, you airfreighted the package from Spain to Germany, yet it suddenly was declared to contain dangerous items when it reached Germany.
Can you explain why, or did UPS ***** up in the first place. It would appear to me that this whole debacle was created by the total incompetence of UPS in Spain and Germany, made worse by a complete lack of communication from UPS in South Africa. I look forward to your explanation.
To anybody reading this, use this courier company at your peril

19 Apr 2022, 09:15Did you not read what I said. There was no communication from UPS SA and myself until I started throwing my toys. UPS in Spain charged the shipper, who the charged me, so the amount was billed by UPS in Spain, so do some actual work, and find out from UPS in Spain what the shipping amount was, and tell me how you intend reimbursing me. You muppets would not have collected it in Spain before you sent it to Germany, so you will know it was paid for, and what the amount was.
You have not answered my question, how did it get shipped before you claimed that it contained dangerous goods. Once again, I await your reply

19 Apr 2022, 09:53You still have not answered my questions, please read carefully before you fire off a corporate speak reply.
What in the package did UPS consider as too dangerous to send to South Africa, although it appeared to be satisfactory for the leg from Spain to Germany. Nobody within UPS has answered that question.
Why did the package sit in Germany for 8 days with no communication from UPS at all.
Why did I receive phone calls from UPS SA asking for my import documents to 'pre clear' the shipment when it is clear that UPS had no intention of sending the parcel on to SA, but were in fact in the process of sending it back to the shipper in Spain.
As of this morning your tracking system still shows the package is still in Germany, yet you are telling me it has been sent back to Spain. Which one is lying?

19 Apr 2022, 10:16You are being economical with the truth. The shipper was not aware that the shipment was being held in Germany until I told them. The shipper has still not been advised what UPS regarded as hazardous.
Your disdainful reply does not explain how this supposedly dangerous shipment managed to make part of the journey. That has nothing to do with the shipper, I expect an answer from YOU.
I have just received an email from the shipper, who have confirmed that they HAVE NOT received the supposedly returned shipment. Can you now understand why I don't believe a word you say.
From your last sentence it would appear that your processes leave a lot to be desired.
