Rude way of dealing with customers

Just received an sms to say that my account for UPS has been handed over. I purchased an item from China in January. UPS don't deliver or release goods unless payment has been made prior to or during delivery. I duly paid the UPS invoice in January and now I get sent this SMS. They have not contacted me at all in connection with this prior to handing it over. Very rude
