Rather use DHL
I've imported a lot of packages. I've had them come in with DHL, FedEx, and even via the SAPO. UPS clearance charges are more than DHL, their service is absolutely terrible (they don't know what's going on), and they can't pick a delivery date. DHL does the customs clearance as soon as they have the package, and by the time it arrives in the country, customs is sorted, and the package will arrive on time or before. With UPS, I was promised the package almost a week ago (it actually landed in the country a week ago and I still don't have it). I had to phone multiple times before receiving customs clearance documentation, and I was not contacted once for this (consider their charges are more than DHL - I should be paid for getting the customs clearance show on the road!). Finally, they settled on a date. I heard nothing, so phone in and the package was apparently given to a courier partner on the Monday (new day I was supposed to receive the package). Now on Tuesday, the new package status says the delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. What does that mean? This is not a cheap service! Get it right!
Thank you for your reply. The package has apparently been handed to Globeflight, and will be delivered tomorrow. It's not really good enough, when I was promised 3 days delivery, and it's now more than a week later, and on top of that, the delivery date was moved from "end of day Wednesday" to "end of day [following] Monday" and now "end of day Wednesday [a week later]". It's too expensive to get service this bad. Nothing can be done, it just need to be delivered.
Kind regards,
Marc
