Holding a customer to ransom with dubious "extra charges" Ref W88W36SZPJT

We were slapped with a R 2 500 extra fee by UPS which initially was called a Disbur*****t fee.

When we queried the fee it morphed into "handling fee" .

Just what is this ransom fee UPS?

You are a company that provides a service of handling and transporting goods. We paid your courier fee but when the goods arrived suddenly there is a Disbur*****t fee or is it a handling fee? At no time prior to the shipment were we advised of this fee?

Smacks of holding a client to ransom?

After numerous mails requesting a managerial contact person we obtained a number for a Clinton , which after 2 days of repeated calling to this number it remains unanswered. No option of a voice mail either.

We have now requested an alternate contact number or e-mail address for Clinton on numerous occasions and UPS fail to respond.

You still have our shipment.

Shame on you UPS for your POOR almost nil lack of response

AND EVEN WORSE

Shame on you for holding your customer to a ransom which is as close as one could get to white collar crime .

Surely there should be laws against this type of ******ion?

And I forgot to mention in the 20 years of us importing we have yet to come across such a fee. TNT do not charge such a fee and I have mentioned to UPS that we are happy to provide proof of TNT billings. Again , simply ignored by UPS
