Courier your parcel with UPS South Africa?

I choose to get my daughter's ballet shoes delivered with the Express UPS service (3 to 5 days delivery) from Brittain to Cape Town. It is very urgent as the supplier had waited a long time for the arrival of her stock and my daughter's shoes are worn out. She can mabe still do one hour class with her current shoes before they collapse. My daughter has practised for 2 years for the international exam and desperately need the new shoes. Obviously, she is at a very advanced level and the locally available shoes just does not fit propperly.

The packet left the supplier on 1 March 2017. On the 7th when I phoned UPS, I was informed that the quantity was stated incorrectly by the supplier. Why did UPS not call me? I emailed the invoice to them the same day and phoned to make sure they got it. I was told a SARS officer was there to do an emergency inspection and I asked that they show him the invoice so that the shoes can be released.

On Thursday the 9th, I phoned again, as I had not heard anything from UPS. After a very unsatisfactory call, I called the supervisor in Cape Town and asked what they are doing to expidite the parcel's released. She told me SARS made a mistake and valued the parcel at four times the stated value. She assured me that they had a meeting at 9h00 with SARS to resolve it.

The meeting was a lie as I phoned SARS later the same day, only to find out that UPS had the wrong FOB date on their work sheet and that they only submitted it online at 10h19 that morning. This is after the supposed meeting at 9h00. SARS assured me that they did not have a meeting with UPS in this regard.

Obviously, I was upset and wanted to speak to the branch manager, only to find out that the position in Cape Town is not filled. I therefore called UPS head office in Johannesburg and asked who the Cape Town branch reports to. I was refered to one of the operations managers. I held on for 11 minutes without the operations manager picking up.

I then asked to speak to the MD's PA, only to find out that he does not have a PA. (?!) I then asked the switchboard lady to speak to teh MD, but he was not in. She refused to give me his cell number. As a last resort I asked her to phone him and ask him to phone me urgently. She said she would also text him and took down my tracking number.

It is now 13h34 and today is day 13 after the parcel was picked up. I dont have the parcel and the MD has still not phoned me. No-one else from UPN has phoned me today to give me an update.

When will my daughter be able to get her shoes?

UPS South Africa's employees makes mistakes that they don't admit to, they lie about meetings that never take place, they lie about having submitted answers to SARS's questions, they don't call you to give you updates, even the MD don't call you back, and then they blame everything on SARS. Are you seriously going to choose UPS for your next parcel?
