UNISA: Poor service delivery

I submitted an application for exemption from course modules in December 2017 via email to the address they prescribed on the website. I called through in March 2018 (after about 10 attempts and finally got through to someone), I was advised that the application has not been attended to.

The frustration is that the contact numbers on the website either don't work anymore, or when someone from the university provides a number, those numbers do not work. Most of the time, when a person does answer the call, it gets dropped immediately, or when they transfer a call, no one answers. Communications via emails are just as pathetic, as one never gets any response.

I have emailed the addresses ********** ********** and ********** and there are no responses. When I mailed someone directly, the reply is to use the email address for the department that deals with the issue.

This draws the question of if the staff are competent to assist, or if they actually want to assist. I have probably spent R1000 on airtime as well as weeks trying to get a hold of someone there who is competent enough to assist, but alas, there is no joy.

This is the only way for me to communicate with UNISA, as I am working, and can't find the time to go to the campus. This is such an inconvenience, but I doubt the service is any better if it was done face-to-face.
