UNISA - no answer, no response

<p>I want to do a BEd Foundation Phase. </p> <p>I missed the registration in January 2017 because I needed assistance with my application and could not get a response via email or tepehone. </p> <p>The website was so confusing and contradictory. </p> <p>I tried East London and PE branches every day for weeks - no answer.</p> <p>I eventually drove 170km to the PE branch, sat in a queue for over an hour, only to be told by the "Student Advisor" that I need to do a Higher Certitifcate of Education - Tourism (or EMS) first. Neither of these have any bearing on a BEd Foundation Phase! The student advisors were talking to the students (or prospective students) over a common counter top. The noise was deafening. I could not hear or understand a thing my advisor was telling me. I wanted to be taken to another area where I could hear and focus properly. I ended up leaving with no information other than a piece of paper that the advisor scribbled on which still makes no sense to me.</p> <p>I thought that being 52 years old with 35 years working experience, may qualify me to go straight into doing my degree - but no, I must waste time doing Tourism!!</p> <p>I have emailed Unisa so many times I have lost count - no luck.</p> <p>Phoned a million times - no answer.</p> <p>Eventually I gave up and registered for Tourism on line - NO RESPONSE!!! How can an on-line system give no response? </p> <p>On Friday, I was in the queue at Pick n Pay when a man turned to my son and asked him about his school. He then told us that he had been a teacher for 14 years at our local school but now worked for Unisa. I said "dont talk to me about Unisa"! I gave him my story and he said well sorry but the next registration period is up as well. Its been 5 months. Am I wasting my time?</p> <p> </p>
