Unisa has the worst service by far.

So, I app**** on the 5th of September 2019 for a Btech in Agricultural Management and paid the application fee. Weeks went by and as I was trying to check my application status at the online portal as other students had received feedback, I was locked out and couldn’t access my online portal. With a help of a friend, I finally managed to get access but only to find that I was rejected because “Mandatory documents not uploaded before closing date.” Mind you, I app**** on the first week when applications were open. I visited the Unisa campus to get assistance from the student advisors and they would tell me to email my concern and wait for a response, and the only response I received was an incident number! I jotted down the incident number and called them to escalate the matter but, no answer!!! SRC couldn’t help either and said I had to wait until the following year for registrations. I waited. Registrations came and I went to Bram Fischer campus hoping I would find answers. I logged on to their online registration system hoping something positive would pop up but still, “mandatory documents not uploaded before closing date.” I asked the EFF SRC for assistance as I was stuck but they would just say they will be with me shortly they are still busy with registrations, from 09:00 until 11:30 I have been standing like an idiot with no assistance. I kept pushing the matter because I app**** on time and all my documents were correct and they said they have never encountered this before I must just come back in April for second semester registrations, I won’t be able to be assisted. I was so angry and went to the supervisor and told her my case, and all she could say was I should have came when applications were still open so I could re apply because maybe there are some documents I didn’t send through or it was the staffs negligence since they were very busy. Seriously?! I app**** on time and made sure my documents were sent through. And then people have the audacity of saying “let’s make education fashionable” but institutions like Unisa are treating us as if we have some contagious disease instead of helping us. Now I can’t go back to school just because of the supposed staffs negligence.
