UNISA Has Failed Me as a Student

I have been registered for my Honours in Environmental Management at UNISA since 2018. As a working mother of three, I chose UNISA for its flexibility, but my experience has been filled with frustration and systemic failures.

In 2022, I was flagged for 3% plagiarism on an exam, despite not using external sources. My appeal required persistent emails and a trip to Pretoria, but I was still found guilty. This delayed my studies, and I missed the 2023 registration deadline, putting my job at risk as my employer requires my qualification.

In 2024, I re-registered, confident in my exam performance, only to receive a 37% fail—something I know is incorrect. I purchased my script for review but have yet to receive a response. My application for a remark feels like another dead end.

Despite my dedication, the system has repeatedly failed me, jeopardizing my career and future studies. UNISA’s inefficiencies and lack of fairness in assessments have left me deeply disappointed.

If UNISA truly values distance learning, it must fix these critical issues. Students deserve a fair, transparent, and supportive academic experience.
